Caspar Babypants’ fourth album, Sing Along! is filled with 20 tracks for kids ages 6 and under to sing and smile along!
Caspar Babypants, aka Chris Ballew of The Presidents of the United States of America, is a charming and imaginative performer who engages children with simple, almost minimalistic melodies and clever lyrics.
Caspar Babypants’ influences range from Beethoven to The Beatles, and Sing Along! has a mixture of traditional songs like Ba Ba Black Sheep, as well as cute originals like My Flea Has Dogs. In fact, My Flea is one of my favorite tracks ~ the tongue-tying list of dog breeds is catchy and the ending Beethoven-esque lick is a lot of fun!
Sing Along! runs about 46 minutes long, starting with Bad Blue Jay and wrapping up with Baby Cloud. Caspar invited children’s artist Frances England to lend her vocals to several tracks. You’ll also hear Rachel Loshak (Gustafer Yellowgold), Outtasite and Caspar’s fellow live performers, Ronald Babyshoes and Frederick Babyshirt.
The musical genres on Sing Along! range from early American songs to African folk melodies and rhythms. Another awesome track is Them Bones, which breaks out into Outtasite’s skeleton-inspired rap.
