A “Bookish Baby Bash” was the perfect baby shower theme for a mom-to-be with a passion for reading and writing and aspirations for her children to be avid readers like her! Erica B. Photography captured the fun and games. She shares a little more about the theme, When guests arrived to the backyard book bash, they were greeted with a “make your own sparkling lemonade bar” to cool off in the sweltering heat… A table full of light snacks were hoisted up by stacks of books at various heights… An old fold up desk was displayed in the backyard and presented vintage parenting magazines and an ornate dish that held a plethora of Scrabble pieces. Guests were encouraged to help the mother-to-be pick a name for the new baby by engaging in “baby babble scrabble.” Homemade vases made with old packaging tape and book pages from a local used book store displayed elegantly arranged white peonies, billy balls, scapioso pods and dusty greens, which were placed on the serving and seating tables. Book pages were a cheap and easy way to carry out our theme. We used book pages as a table runner, as backing for our labels and invitations, and also in ourhome made paper flowers that were pinned up on the patio.
